Although "Multicultural Societies" constitute part of the every day life in Europe, the "different" -in a national or cultural way- social groups are not really equally or fairly represented by the European Mass Media.
At the same time, people coming from these groups feel suspicious about the National Mass Media: there are few personalities, articles, reportages or issues that really concern them or are identified with them. This leads them to exclusion, marginalisation and estrangement.
The deficient or unkind representation of immigrants, refugees or repatriates influences the public opinion: most of the times, it reassures prejudices that already exist for the "New Europeans".
